South Island New Zealand
Land and sea-scapes from a week-long tour, February–March 2025
Images — some more accurate than others — from a week-long tour of the southern part of the South Island of New Zealand, especially the East coast, the Te-Anau valley and Milford Sound.
The tour ranged from the dramatic Skipper's Canyon west of Queenstown, across the Remarkables range at dawn, south to Nugget Point and the wild Catlins coast at Waipapa Bay and Cannibal Bay, then west through Fiordland to Milford Sound and the Cleddau River gorge.
All images were made in the last days of February and the first days of March 2025, with an Olympus OM-1 camera and a 12–100mm f/4.0 lens, and a Leica Q3 with a fixed 43mm lens.
